Our take
Rixos Premium Dubai JBR is a 35-floor tower of 414 rooms standing directly on the sand at Jumeirah Beach Residence, with its own section of beach beside the public JBR beach. The JBR 1 tram stop is about six minutes away on foot, and the tram meets the Red Line metro at DMCC and Sobha Realty, so Downtown is reachable without a taxi. The mood is social: the Azure Beach club, the pool deck and STK keep the place loud into the evening. Guests give it 9.1 across more than 3,400 reviews. I would pick it for a beach trip with nightlife on the doorstep, not for a quiet retreat; the Palm crescent and Al Sufouh are calmer.
- ✓Take the tram from JBR 1 and change to the Red Line at Sobha Realty or DMCC: tram and metro do not share a platform, and the signed footbridge takes a few minutes.
- ✓Ask for a sea-facing room on a high floor: that side looks over Bluewaters Island and the Ain Dubai wheel, while the other side faces the Marina towers.
- ✓In July and August, use the beach before 9 am or after 6 pm; the sand and The Walk are punishing around midday.
- ✓The Walk and The Beach next door are open to everyone, so expect crowds on weekend evenings, which in Dubai means Saturday and Sunday since 2022.
Why we love it
- Direct access to JBR beach
- Views of Ain Dubai or city skyline
- Vibrant nightlife and tranquil pool
- Spacious rooms with rainforest showers
Why guests love itRixos Premium Dubai JBR runs the Rixy Kids Club for children aged 4 to 12, and keeps a separate children's pool alongside an adults' pool, which helps when the main deck fills up. Teenagers get watersports on the beach and the shops and food stalls of The Walk a few steps from the lobby. The Naturelife Spa has a Turkish hammam for parents who want a break while the children are at the club. The limits are noise and pace: the hotel stands on one of the most frequented beachfronts in Dubai, the evening scene is loud, and parents of toddlers should ask for a room away from the pool terrace. For a calmer family beach, the resorts on the Palm crescent suit better.
