Rove Downtown sits on Al Mustaqbal Street, less than a ten-minute walk from The Dubai Mall, and its Burj View rooms look straight at the tower. It is a no-frills design hotel: compact rooms, an outdoor saltwater pool open from 8 am to 8 pm, a gym open around the clock, and no spa or beach shuttle. Its best detail is the timetable, with check-out at 2 pm, which suits late flights out of DXB. More than 10,000 guests give it 9.2. I would book it for a city break built around Downtown sights, not for a holiday by the pool: the deck is small, and the walk to the mall runs outdoors, which is hard work at midday from June to September.
