Both give you the city and the mall within reach, and a spa or sauna to return to, but neither is on the Al Sufouh coast, so a beach day needs a taxi.
Ritz Carlton DIFC Downtown Dubai, rated 8.9, is a luxurious 5-star with direct access to the DIFC Gate Building, three restaurants, three outdoor terraces, a 24-hour fitness centre, a spa and two swimming pools, including a seasonal rooftop pool, one metro stop from Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa. It is the most polished spa hotel on this page and the furthest from the sea. I would choose it for a city break with a proper treatment, not for a seaside holiday, and I say so plainly.
